October 25th
Hi everyone,
It’s blowing a gale and raining outside and I’m sitting at the computer wrapping up as much ‘business’ stuff as possible before leaving to go on tour after the weekend. I spent a hectic and really lovely five days in Vilnius last week as guest of the Tai As international song festival, my third visit to Lithuania. Highlights this time included recording the ‘festival anthem’ I wrote five years ago with a twenty piece orchestra in the beautiful St. Catherine’s church. As usual the jam sessions after hours were as much or even more fun than the actual concerts and I came home tired but happy after five nights of not much sleep but lots of music.
Next up is my tour of Germany (and Switzerland) with guitarist Uli Kringler…fourteen shows between now and November 23rd. We’ll be featuring many of the songs on my new retrospective compilation 3 x CD Box Set ‘Life And Soul’, as well as brand new material. I can’t wait to play again and hope to see lots of you folks at one or other of the shows (see Tour Dates page for details).
Greetings from Somerset, Julian
