February 27th

Hi everybody, The last few days have been a bit of a blur…after my showcase at Folk Alliance on Friday, which went very well, a duet with Cindy Bullens being a highlight, I had Saturday to relax and enjoy some other peoples’ music (Bill Kirchen, Mary Gauthier, the Burns Sisters…). I ended up being invited to play a whole set with Melanie, including ‘Lay Down’, ‘What Have They Done To My Song’ etc. Big fun and nice people.

Then on to Nashville by car for a lovely book event, spoiled only by the US postal service who sent my parcel of books to Lafayette, Louisiana instead of Nashville – 30 guests, no books! It was still a really nice vibe and left lots of happy faces.

Tomorrow I’m going down to Muscle Shoals to visit Spooner Oldham, then one more day in Nashville, before flying back to Frankfurt for my 2 book readings (Friday 2nd March at Seehotel Fontane in Neuruppin near Berlin – I’ll be tired for that one!) and 5th March in the Kaspar Hauser Buchladen in Ansbach.

I know I’m supposed to be taking a year’s break but what can you do?
