27th January
Hi to everybody out there in internet world,
Guilty as charged! It’s been a while again since I updated my activities, though truth be told, I have waited until there are some upcoming shows to put up a post.
After enjoying the brief four-day ‘tourette’ with band in the autumn (the show in Lahnstein with Jerry Donahue and Wolfgang Niedecken as my guests was a highlight) I was back in England, gearing up for Christmas.
There has been a vicious flu bug doing the rounds here and I avoided it quite efficiently until New Year’s Day and then suddenly went down with the full works. Like thousands of others I suffered a few days of considerable misery with the usual symptoms. The difference this time was that I was left with a lingering cough that lasted three months!
I played a number of shows from the end of February to late March and felt under the weather almost throughout. Some shows were with Uli Kringler and some were solo performances, but all of them featured the new CD ‘Paints & Powders’ a limited, numbered edition, exclusively available on the night. I made it through the last four concerts with my voice coming and going like a faulty jack-plug and, though I enjoyed every single gig, I was relieved that I made it to the end without having to cancel any shows.
Best wishes to all faithful visitors to this site and thanks to the promoters (and audiences) who made the tour so rewarding and enjoyable. I’ll be posting again before too long with news of the rest of the year’s activities and a brand new CD.
